Laura Mercier vs Givenchy

The Best Setting Powder…

Do you find your make up is sliding off by lunchtime?

Then you need to invest in a setting powder.

If you want a powder that’s going to give your skin a gorgeous glow as well...

Then the Laura Mercier and Givenchy both promise just that.

I’ve been using Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder for YEARS.

However I saw the rave reviews about Givenchy’s Powder

So I had to try it!

Which one trumps the other?

Let’s find out…

Givenchy Prisme Loose Powder

So even though this is a setting powder, there are 7 shades available.

7!

Givenchy have really put the time in to understand undertones.

So this powder will complement your skin…

And ensure your make up looks the best!

Shade: 4

I went for Shade 4, which is for medium skin tones.

I normally go for quite a tanned foundation colour, so this shade compliments that nicely.

The different colours all work together to combat redness, highlight and blur your skin…

The Prep

I prepped my skin with the Estée Lauder Glow Primer.

My go to foundation – the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless foundation.

And the Rodial Banana Lowlighter under my eyes, middle of forehead and chin.

Now let’s see what this Givenchy powder can do…

Matte & Neautralised

The way this powder neautralises any orange/redness on your skin is amazing.

If you’re foundation is looking a bit warm this powder will save the day.

It has those glistening elements when you turn your face side to side.

And not a drop of oil in sight!

My t-zone was well and truly matte.

By the end of the day, my make up was still perfect.

How Does Laura Mercier Compare?

The OG of setting powder.

The Laura Mercier has been a celebrity favourite forEVER.

With pearl pigments to give a radiant finish.

And control shine for 24hours.

But how does it look?

Glowy & Matte

The reason I have used this powder for so long is the gorgeous glow it gives your skin.

It’s also GREAT at toning down any orangeness if you’re foundation is looking a bit too warm/dark

(Similar to Givenchy)

The One Difference?

The green and purple tones in the Givenchy powder are REALLY good at neutralising any red/orange tones.

The Laura Mercier definitely helps with toning down warmth.

But Givenchy is a lot better.

Both keep your make up on all day.

Both give your skin a beautiful glistening look.

But if you suffer from any redness or have warm foundations that need toning down…

I would recommend the Givency Prisme Loose Powder
