Bali Body vs Tan-Luxe

the number one gradual tanner

Gradual tanners are a great way of achieving a beautiful tan.

Without the biscuit smell and stained bed sheets.

In my experience, gradual tanners actually last longer compared to the overnight tanning products.

So if you’re wondering which one to invest in, I review the top two on the market right now.

Let’s see which one gives the deepest glow, the nicest finish and lasts the longest….

Bali Body Tanning Butter

Bali Body has been all over my Instagram recently.

Videos of stunning, bronzed skin all the way from sunny Australia.

I was dying to try it, so got myself a tub of the tanning butter.

(Spoiler alert: I am 6 months pregnant, so thought I’d get the bump involved for more surface are to assess! And yes, both of these gradual tanners are pregnancy safe!)

Day 1

So this is how pale I am to start with…

This was enough to cover my chest, arms and face.

Once rubbed into my chest and arms, I use the remnants that’s left on my hands to rub into my face.

Tip for your hands: I rub into my hands as if it’s moisturiser, and then wet the inside of my hands in the sink and rub a towel between them.

Ensuring the back of your hands still get a gorgeous natural glow!

Straight After Application

Even before it’s had time to develop, the Bali Body had an instant glow straight after I had applied it.

Something I wasn’t expecting.

But something I loved!

Especially handy for those days where you have forgotten to fake tan and just need a little pick me up.

No smells and no stickyness.

It just feels like normal moisturiser!

"

Day 2

24 hours later,

I am pretty impressed with the colour already.

This is just one application yesterday and showered off this morning.

This is perfect to put on before bed if you need a little glow the next day.

And you’ll save your bed sheets in the process!

Let’s see what a second application looks like…

Day 3

An Even Deeper Glow

With still no muddy or ‘fake’ look to it.

A perfect, even tan, with no patchyness in sight!

Safe to say I’m definitely converted from the overnight tanners!

No sticky mess, awful smell or staining everything you touch.

The finish on this tan is by far just as good!

But is Tan-Luxe Even Better?

Tan-Luxe was recommended to me when I worked in Harrods as the high-end, gradual tanner.

The Butter‘ is infused with a hella’ lot of nourishing ingredients.

Hence the space for it in the Harrods Beauty hall.

Vitamin E, Raspberry Seed Oil, Oat Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter to provide luxurious hydration.

But what does the tan look like?

Day 1

Without any tan on…

"

Straight After Application

Just like Bali Body, Tan-Luxe gives an immediate glow once applied.

As you can see Tan-Luxe has a bit more of a greasy look.

Bali Body dried a lot quicker which personally I preferred.

But I would assume this is due to the hydrating aspect Tan-Luxe has!

Let’s see what it looks like when it’s had time to develop…

Day 2

A really lovely glow on day 2.

Natural and a nice shade of brown.

Not an orange pigment in sight!

Let’s see what another layer looks like…

Day 3

A Natural Glow

On day 3, with two layers of the Tan-Luxe on, I have a really nice natural looking glow.

It’s not as a deep a shade as the Bali Body by day 3.

So this is really down to personal preferance as to how dark you like your tan.

However both are super moisturising.

And didn’t go patchy AT ALL when it was wearing off a few days later.

Tan-Luxe is probably better for your skin in the long run due to it’s luxury moisturising elements…

My go-to will be the Bali Body Gradual Butter, as I do like a darker tan.
